This script allows you to enter accented Koiné Greek (that is, polytonic Ancient Greek) text, using a normal keyboard and web browser. You can then cut-and-paste the Unicode characters, or their HTML equivalents, into other documents. A simplified form of betacode is used for indicating the accents that are to be applied to each character.

More than one accent can be applied to any character; if a matching character cannot be found for a certain sequence of accents, it will be attempted repeatedly, dropping the final character each time, until a match is found.
Two things are necessary to use this script: (1) Your browser must be able to display Unicode characters, and (2) any font you use with these characters elsewhere (e.g. in a word processor) must contain Unicode characters. On recent Windows systems, the Tahoma font works well, though there are better choices. Font resources are linked from the following page:
